FAMILY AND YOUTH SERVICES

We provide support and education to promote change, encourage personal growth and enhance healthy families.  The following programs are funded through the Ministry of Children and Family Development and are offered at no cost to participants.

Key Worker Program: The Key worker Program values working closely with the whole family to establish strong, healthy family relationships.  For families who are experiencing a variety of challenges and concerns, this strength based program is designed to build capacity and connect them with relevant services.  Acting as a liaison with the Ministry of Children and Families Development (MCFD), through in-home and in-community visits, Key Workers support families in the following areas:

  • Parenting Skills
  • Communication Skills
  • Conflict Resolution Skills
  • Physical, Social and Emotional Support

*Families/Individuals can self-refer

Youth Key Worker & Outreach Services:  The Youth Key worker works one to one with youth, ages 12-19, to establish safer and healthier lifestyles, build and or strengthen connections with family and community and overcome barriers in their transition to independence.  This program is offered from a holistic approach, strives to equip youth and link them to relevant services in the following areas:

  • Life Skills
  • Building Healthy Relationships
  • Communication Skills
  • Supporting Education and or Employment Skills
  • Physical, Social and Emotional Support

*Youth can self-refer

Family Therapy:  This program offers individual, couple, family and group counseling in a wide range of areas: family of origin issues, trauma, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and parent/teen conflict.  Working with families referred by the Ministry of Children and Families (MCFD), using modalities such as:

  • Trauma Repair (EDMR)
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
  • Family of Origin Orientation and
  • Adlerian Therapy

*Participation in this program is by MCFD referral only

Supervised Access Program:  If you are separated from your child, you understand that the time you spend together is invaluable.  An atmosphere that facilitates safety and support can be essential in making the most of your time together.  This program facilitates visits between children and their families who are involved with the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD).  It promotes positive interactions between family members and provides parenting support and education.
